Homemade Laundry Soap

I have wanted to make my own laundry detergent for a while now.
I have had the ingredients but never got around to it until
I ran out and had too!
(Not a good thing in a house with 8 kids!)
My friend had given me the recipe to make it.
It was so simple!
Jut 3 ingredients, mix them together and you have your own
homemade laundry detergent.
Finely grate 1 bar of Zote soap.
I found it at Wal-Mart in the laundry aisle for about $.97
(My daughter had just got down the Halloween costumes
and decided to help me.
Her pic was so much cuter than the one of me!)

Place 1 bar of finely grated Zote soap in a bowl.
Combine 1/2 C. of Arm & Hammer Washing Soda,
(I found this at my grocery store for about $2.98)
and 1/2 C. Borax
Mix well.
The best part is you only have to use 1 TBSP.
It is great for HE washers and safe for your babies laundry.
Not to mention the cost per load is about $.05!
Amazing!!

I have done several loads and have been happy with the results so far.

About Me and CYOJ Founder

HELLO everyone!!! ~Waves~ I am the new owner(Yes the "buck stops here") of Create Your Own Joy Studios!  I am so excited to meet and work with all the students, young and young at heart.  I have had many jobs, but the job I have been the most passionate about over the last seven years is teaching.  Education is so important and I just love that sewing can be a skill that you can use for the rest of your life.

I started sewing in High School, back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth, also known as the 80's...My guidance counselor gave me the choice of sewing class or woodshop..yeah, I picked sewing and I am so glad I did!  I have used sewing to earn extra money throughout my life and I am so blessed to be able to combine both passions: teaching and creating/sewing.

I look forward to helping each of you develop your skills and my personal goal is to get academic/occupational credits from the Dept. of Education for the students.  I hope that more adults, both men and wom…
